Hello all. I hope that you are well. I am just popping on to say Merry Christmas and I hope it all goes exactly as you planned.
I am back home now after a morning at work, most of which was spent weaving our way through the smashed vodka bottles and worse that the rough sleepers have left on our car park. Nice people keep reminding me that Mary and Joseph were homeless refugees for a while, which they were of course but I think it is unlikely that either of them constantly felt the need to relieve themselves on the car park - in the most extreme way - not just a little tinkle in the corner - which is why my patience is more stretched out than is strictly seasonal.
We have very little planned - although, as you can see, my plan to eat my own body weight in Ferrero Rocher is going very well. Other than that - possibly a walk on the beach tomorrow and, after dinner, possibly a bit of telly - although I am up to date with The Chelsea Detective and Dalgleish now. I believe there is some sort of Gavin and Stacey special on - although I'm not 100% sure because it hasn't been advertised at all. (Not all that bothered by Gavin and Stacey really - although that seems to be against the law at the moment).
So have a lovely Christmas and if it is difficult, please know that a lot of the faff is unimportant anyway. Just have a rest, if you can. It will be over before you know it. As a child, that thought used to make me burst into tears - now - not so much. My brother was worse, he would be very unhappy after Christmas. Aged Parent would say to anyone who would listen..."He's having an anti-climax he is." and he probably was.
Christmas is not really able to take the weight of expectation that it carries these days and although we all say we know that it's mainly about evil corporates making us spend more money, we still do it anyway. We shouldn't but we often do. I was pleasantly surprised this morning to hear that the amount of people who feel that it is a religious event rather than a family event is still solid at around 58% of the population. That's nice. (Actually, that may be mainly Muslims but never mind).
Right then. The Mac needs a plug-in and I may need a little nap - you never know. Just have a brilliant time. Take it easy. This Christmas malarkey is really for you to realise how precious and loved you are and that's it really.
Thanks for reading and have a lovely Christmas xxx
